Lar:Was there any mention of Stanley being questioned about teh similar incident in McElwain Hall on the 21st?not looking good at all.
No but I wouldn't expect there to be. The only thing that would be in this document would have been evidence toward bringing charges against him for this specific incident. If the police had evidence against him for the other incident it would be written up in a separate report.

I've read the complete police report on the incident. It's even more incriminating than the Collegian story. I think Pringle is history.
The accuser described an ongoing interchange with Pringle that escalated over 15 minutes or so with the accuser feeling increasingly uncomfortable. She eventually texted a friend to call her so she could excuse herself to take the call. Her descriptions of what she heard are more graphic than what's in the Collegian story.
Pringle was not detained in the library however, The accuser filed a report with the police and, based on comments made by Pringle during the conversation with the accuser, the police quickly narrowed in on him.
While I suppose it's technically correct that Pringle cooperated with the police, I'd call his cooperation, at least as described in the police report, as less than completely straightforward. He denied even being in the library initially. Gradually, he admitted to more and more. Eventually, he admitted to talking to her and having his hand in his pants on his "thing"while doing so, but denied that he was masturbating.
I'm seeing less and less reasonable doubt all the time.

Well that hand lotion comment doesn't bode well.

Honestly, you can't do much else than laugh at this one... it's one of the most bizarre things that has happened during my short time here. Does anyone honestly think anything more than extra conditioning and possibly a short suspension by ED will arise out of this? I mean, I know a player who within the past few years was charged and convicted with possession of marijuana. It was his first strike and little more than early morning running was done to punish him.
Actually, I don't think it's at all laughable. If he's convicted of the incident I'm pretty sure he becomes a registered sex offender. That is not something you want to be saddled with the rest of your life. I think you'll find that in most cases like this the offenders wind up quickly leaving Dodge and trying to restart their live elsewhere. So I see the potential ramifications being MUCH greater than what you've detailed.

"Pringle told police he has a habit of putting his hand down his pants and said that he had done so while speaking with the woman, but that he was not masturbating." That's not exactly vindicating though
No but it might be reasonable doubt. I have a hard time seeing a jury convict someone of a sex crime because of "noises" and a kid's habit of putting his hand in his pants.

The CDT has published details of the charges.

It seems like awfully slim evidence. According to the victim, she "heard sounds" but really didn't see anything other than a reflection in the window of Stanley tieing his wasteband.
6'8" 2009 forward from Richards HS in Chicago.
A standout receiver in football, Pratl is being recruited heavily in both sports. Miami, Tennessee, Virginia, Illinois, Arizona, Michigan State and Colorado State are among the top football suitors. Iowa, Minnesota, Loyola, Indiana State, Penn State, Illinois State and Dayton are among his most ardent recruiters in basketball.

I hate to say it, but Stanley is fairly unique looking, due to his hair. Still, I'm hopeful they got the wrong guy...
Actually, that's exactly why it's possible that they could have mistakenly identified him. There's bound to be a few people who wear their hair like that. And, if the perpetrator did have hair like Stanley, it could mean that's what led the police to him, and with a poorly arranged lineup, photo or otherwise, it could be why he was ID'ed.

I wouldn't be so quick to convict the guy.
I don't understand why the assistant SID would go so far as to say that Pringle wasn't involved unless there was some sort of evidence exonerating him. Plus, according to the same assistant SID, Pringle's still on the team. Normally, in cases like these, the kid is quickly suspended and the most you'll ever get out of anyone is a "no comment".
Something's unusual about this case.

I'm just bummed that I didn't get my butt moving on NittWiki. I could have channeled all your guys efforts into it. In the meantime, feel free to lift the profiles on the Alumni Tracker

I'm currently researching for my own hosting, it's possible we can find a cheaper hosting company that might be as good as what he has now (unless he doesn't want to move).
Tim could speak to it better than I but I know he's extremely busy at work. I think there are several issues involved with moving.
One is getting access to the data that is currently at the current hosting company. At least for the moment, the company has it "locked up". Now it would seem to me that the data is legally Tim's but I'm not sure he has either the time or resources to legally go after the hosting company to have them release the files.
Two, setting up the site at another hosting company will be a non-trivial execise - and that's whether he gets access to the data to move or if he sets up a new board from scratch. Certainly Tim has the skills to do it so it won't be a necessarily difficult exercise but it still involves a time commitment which he doesn't have right now.
The simplest solution is to pay these guys the "ransom" then look into hosting company alternatives down the road.

He would have all the satisfaction he'd need if he was a football player.
I think you'll find that there's no correlation between the amount of sex an individual is getting and behavior like this.
And I offer in evidence, this piece about former PSU and current UMass player Spencer Ridenhour.

I'll reserve judgement until all the facts come out, but I feel bad for the kid who dressed up as the Sour Cream & Onions can.
OUCH.

He's the one being accused. See my post just before yours.

He's charged in a lewd incident in Pattee per the Collegian.
He denies the charges per the SID,
I hope there's more evidence than just an eyewitness account. It's so easy for an eyewitness to be mistaken and it's a pretty nasty charge to have hanging over your head.

I started to reply to the guy saying
"but you called me, I didn't call you"
and then decided the subject shouldn't be joked about.

I've added a link at top of the sidebar on the right where you can contribute to help bring back the old site. If I remember correctly, the total contributions that were up there wes something like $1100 when this crisis hit. If we can get it up to around $1800, that ought to do it. I kicked $35 in and we are now at $1276,
Just a note. If you are going to give more than $2.00, make sure you change the $$$$ amount before you click the pay now button. My first trip through, I didn't, thinking I would get a chance later on but couldn't find a way to change it without cancelling the transaction.

I've checked with Tim. The Amazon link is good. If we get close, he promises to bring the old site back. We should be able to do it in no time.
I put a link to the site at the top of the sidebar on the right.
I'm in for $35. Can we get a few more?

Not too many folk fell for my little joke here but they went for it hook, line, and sinker on Rival's Villanova board.
I was looking at my site stats tonight and saw over 100 visitors had come over from the Nova board so I had to go check it out. What I can't figure out is why the guy who made the orignal post was so convinced that it wasn't an April Fool's prank?
The best part is that they were completely focused on how it couldn't be right because, the press release seem to be ignoring the opening round games and also that they had never heard of the tournament.
Little did they know that I had done my homework. Once someone did a little research, discovered that the tournament really existed, that Villanova was already committed, and that I had the opening rounds correctly structured, then everyone bought into the whole deal.
They did land a little hard though once they realized it wasn't true.

What is interesting to me is how quick Penn State or someone with the ear of Penn State was on the web site that ended with you getting the cease and desist order. Gee if they are reading this site that quickly do you think that maybe they would start to understand that getting a few solid teams on the schedule is not a joking matter?
I think it had something to do with the fact that at 5:30 in the morning LionbackerU said he was busy trying to reach aomebudy in the athletic department to confirm (this was AFTER the fact that he had already figured out that it was being hosted on my site - which should have been enough for him to realize it was an April Fool's joke). Once people started calling them to confirm, PSU kind of had to tell me to take it down.
LU is a Duke fan too, so he took it personal and didn't quite see the humor in it.
April 1, 2008 by unclelar
I would wear that cease and desist order like a badge of honor! Does no one up there have a (blankety blank) sense of humor? Jeezaloo, as the late great Frank Barone used to say.
I will. I particularly liked the part where the author, who shall go nameless to protect the guilty, told me to "sees and desist". I know the guy and he's going to get some good natured ribbing from me about it.
April 1, 2008 by unclelar
I have a very good sense of humor Lar, how bout you? I can be very gullible but I did not believe it for a minute and I just called you out on that! Lighten up!
Cap - the way the game is played is that you are supposed to make a remark that indicates that you get the joke but don't expose it. Perhaps saying something like "I hear Duke is doing it because they are after that 6'11" Philly kid Lirpa Loof. That way everone knows you're smart and you weren't fooled but the game goes on. There's no need to expose the joke by continuing to point out minor discrepancies.
April 1, 2008 by unclelar
So why is it that this news shows up on your site when it does not show up on the link below? I thought you always said you were not an insider?
Gees Cap. Get a sense of humor and play along why don't you?
It doesn't matter now. I got a cease and desist note from PSU so I had to take it down.
